Dr. Parsons To Teach Local Surgeons About Techniques For Shoulder Replacement

Dr. Parsons has served as a clinical instructor and design surgeon for Exactech, Inc. (Gainesville, FLA), a manufacturer and distributor of shoulder replacement implants. Exactech has been a leader in innovating shoulder products in both anatomic and reverse shoulder replacement with the goal of improving surgeons’ ability to address different patterns of wear and different diagnoses that require replacement. As part of the companies effort to educate surgeons about the optimal use of their implants, Exactech devotes considerable resources to surgeon education. Dr. Parsons has been invited to proctor a group of surgeons from New England Baptist Hospital and will be teaching several surgeons and fellows on the Exactech Equinoxe Shoulder system. This invitation recognizes his expertise in the field of shoulder replacement as well as the contributions he has made to the implant system which he has used almost exclusively since 2009.

Dr. Parsons was the first surgeon in New Hampshire to perform a reverse shoulder replacement in 2004 and over the past 17 years has performed well over 1,000 shoulder replacements. He is a founding member of the New England Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and a member of the American Shoulder Elbow Surgeons which invites only surgeons who have made significant contributions to the field to their membership. Parsons regularly participates in clinical research and is part of a team of surgeons, engineers and data scientists who are exploring the role of artificial intelligence in predicting the outcomes of shoulder replacement.
