At the 2022 Annual New England Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon Conference, Dr. Parsons presented his research and experience on the use of preoperative planning and machine learning in shoulder replacement. Now in its 19th year, this meeting draws expert shoulder and elbow surgeons from the northeast to discuss the latest advancements in our understanding and treatment of shoulder and elbow disorders. Parsons was a founding member of this group in 2004 and has been a regular member of the faculty since that time. This year, Parsons was elected to the Board as a member-at-large and director of the educational committee. This election is a recognition of both his regular involvement in the society and the recognition of his peers for the contributions he has made to the advancement of technology in shoulder replacement.
Dr. Parsons performed the first reverse total shoulder in New Hampshire in 2004 and has performed over 1200 shoulder replacements during his career. He is a member of the design team that developed the Guided Personalized Surgery intraoperative navigation platform which is currently the only system that allows true real-time surgical navigation of implant placement in shoulder replacement.
